- Base-isolated buildings in the Aoba-yama campus at Tohoku University
- Tsunami affected coastal areas
- Hiyoriyama park, which commands panoramic view of tsunami affected Ishinomaki city
- The disaster prevention center building of Minami-Sanriku. A structural remain of a tsunami wrecked building in the 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake
